Communities
Representatives of the Northern Catholic Church belonging to the Scranton Union in Hungary, Upper Hungary (Slovakia), and Transylvania (Romania)
The Saint Stephen Region of the Northern Catholic Church unites the communities of the Northern Catholic Church belonging to the Scranton Union in Hungary, Upper Hungary (Slovakia), and Transylvania (Romania).
Our mission is to faithfully preserve the heritage of the apostolic faith and to convey it in a way that is understandable, authentic, and hopeful for the people of our time.
Christ is at the center of our church life. Celebrating the sacraments, proclaiming the word of God, communal prayer, and building brotherly community form the foundation of our service. We believe that the Church is not merely an institution but the people of God: a community that walks the path of faith together and is open to all people of goodwill.
In our communities, respect for human dignity, practicing mercy, and personal pastoral presence hold an important place. We strive to ensure that the good news of the gospel is not only heard within the walls of the church but also becomes a tangible reality in everyday life.
Our region seeks to contribute through regular worship services, organizing spiritual events, catechesis, community programs, and charitable service so that hope arising from faith and mutual responsibility increasingly shape the life of our communities.
The Saint Stephen Region of the Northern Catholic Church aims to be a spiritual home where tradition and the present, faith and service, truth and mercy strengthen each other in leading to the following of Christ.
