A Romani-language Bible has come into worthy hands

This morning (July 17), at the Holy Family Old Catholic Chapel in Gyomaendrőd, Canon Zsolt Szécsi, pastor of the Northern Catholic Church, handed over a complete Bible in Romani language (Lovari) to Jr. Tibor Sztojka, singer and performer.

The handover was more than just giving a book. It was an expression of the belief that God’s word speaks to every person, regardless of nationality, culture, or mother tongue. The Romani-language Scripture provides an opportunity for the gospel to address the reader in their own language, bringing the good news of Christ closer and strengthening faith.

The moment of the handover was accompanied by gratitude and prayer. Thanks were given that God’s word can reach more and more people in their mother tongue, and prayers were offered that this Bible may be a spiritual guide, comfort, and resource for many.

May this gift be a sign that God’s word continues to find its way into human hearts, deepening faith, strengthening love, and bringing hope, peace, and blessing to families and communities.
