The Kondoros Ecumenical Event Was About the Message of the Bible

On September 9, a Baptist-organized biblical-theological lecture was held at the Fehérliliom Folk High School in Kondoros, in which representatives of our church also participated.

The evening’s speaker was Prof. Dr. Tibor Almási, a New Testament theologian and retired rector of the Baptist Theological Academy, who gave a lecture titled “The Path to Understanding the Bible and Its Message”.

The occasion not only provided an opportunity to listen to a valuable biblical-theological lecture but also strengthened the relationships between different Christian communities through personal encounters.

The evening well illustrated that ecumenism does not merely mean institutional dialogue but also every meeting in which Christians respectfully learn about each other’s faith, tradition, and ministry, seeking what unites them.

The chosen scripture for the occasion was read from Psalm 119:

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
(Psalm 119:105)

The event once again highlighted that mutual respect, openness, and personal encounters play an important role in deepening Christian fraternal relationships and ecumenical dialogue.
